Kybella - Lumberton, NC

For years, men and woman have been unhappy with those fatty deposits located under their chin and neck area, often referred to as a “double chin.” These fatty deposits or submental fullness, may cause some to feel less attractive and confident, but they aren’t ready for an invasive surgical procedure to correct it. We offer a new way to treat these localized fat deposits. Kybella™ is a non-surgical, safe approach to localized fat reduction that provides for a more pleasing, confident, appearance.

What is Kybella?
Kybella is the first FDA approved non-surgical injectable that reduces the excess fat accumulation under the chin and neck area.  It’s a minimally invasive, safe, effective non-surgical treatment that provides long lasting results with minimal side effects.

Who are the best candidates for Kybella?
The best candidates for Kybella are those that require fat removal from the specific area of fat located on the upper neck under the chin area. Candidates should be over 18 years old, have no chronic medical condition that may negate the procedure, have good skin and muscle tone, and require minimum tissue tightening in the area to be treated.

During your consultation our doctor will discuss whether you’re are a good candidate for the procedure, how many treatments you may require, the length of time between your treatment sessions, and the expected results and cost.

How does Kybella work?
Kybella is an injectable that includes a naturally occurring molecules of deoxycholic acid that’s found in the body to aid the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. Kybella is injected under the chin to melt these fat cells, thus improving your appearance and profile of the area while eliminating fat cells from the body. Once destroyed, these fat cells are no longer able to store or accumulate fat.

How is the Kybella procedure performed?
During the Kybella procedure we use a very tiny needle (about the size of an eyelash) to make multiple injections of Kybella into the targeted area. The Kybella treatment is almost painless, has no downtime, no heavy bandages, headgear, anesthesia, and no disruptions to your daily life.

What about side effects with Kybella?
The most common side effects following Kybella treatment may include some redness, bruising, tightness, or mild swelling which is normal and may last up to several weeks.

How does Kybella compare to Liposuction?
With Liposuction, the fat is surgically suctioned out of your body. Liposuction is performed with one Surgical treatment.

Kybella treatments normally range from 2 - 4 short treatment sessions, with no downtime. The number of injections is dependent on the amount of fat to be dissolved. Sessions are scheduled 4 - 6 weeks between treatments for optimal fat loss results to occur.

How soon will I see results with Kybella?

Initial results will usually be seen within a couple of weeks after treatment and patients will continue to see results up to a month after the initial injection. With each additional treatment patients will continue to see improvement.

How long will Kybella fat reduction last?
After your series of treatments the results are permanent. Fat cells removed from under the chin area with Kybella will not return. With weight gain, aging or genetic factors new fat cells can occur.

Is Kybella safe?
Yes, Kybella is a safe and FDA approved treatment to reduce fat under the chin. You should select a health care provider that has been trained in reduction of chin fat by Kybella and is aware of your medical history, including your current medications.
